Measles
As of 20 May 2026, a total of 498 measles cases have been reported in Japan for 2026.
Severe fever with thrombocytopaenia syndrome
On 7 August 2025 a confirmed case of Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) was reported in the city of Sapporo, Hokkaido. The likely area the infection was acquired was Ibaraki prefecture in the Kanto region. As of April 30, 2025, Japan had reported 12 cases of SFTS.
