Your local travel clinic for Partington
We look after Partington travellers from Davyhulme Pharmacy on Canterbury Road in Urmston, a short run east through Carrington and Flixton. Honest advice, proper time for your questions, and every travel jab you're likely to need.
We're Urmston Travel Clinic, run from Davyhulme Pharmacy at 179–181 Canterbury Road in Urmston (M41 0SE). Partington sits out to the west of us, near the Manchester Ship Canal, and we're the nearest proper travel clinic in this corner of Trafford. For anyone heading off from Partington, Carrington or the streets around Central Road, there's no long trek into Manchester and no big-hospital waiting room — just a calm chat with people who know their stuff.
Getting to us is an easy run east. The roads through Carrington and Flixton bring you straight into Urmston, and from there it's a quick turn towards Davyhulme and Canterbury Road. Plenty of Partington patients pair the trip with the big shops on the way back — the appointment itself rarely takes more than half an hour.

Getting to us from Partington
From Partington the simplest route is to head east towards Flixton and Urmston. The road through Carrington and along into Flixton brings you out near Urmston town centre, and from there you follow the signs towards Davyhulme to find us on Canterbury Road. It's a short, steady drive with no need to battle into the middle of Manchester. If you'd rather not drive, the bus links from Partington run through to Urmston, where the pharmacy is only a few minutes further on.
Making one visit do the whole job
Because Partington is that bit further out — no tram stop of its own, with the Ship Canal hemming the village in on one side — we plan your care so a single trip covers as much as possible. Give us your destinations and departure date when you book and we'll map the full course up front, bundling whatever can safely be given together on the day and only asking you back if a second dose genuinely needs the gap. Driving over, you'll find on-street parking on Canterbury Road and the residential roads off it, and we'll do our best to find late-afternoon and after-school times for families juggling school runs and shift patterns.
How your consultation works
Your appointment starts with the pharmacist sitting down with you properly — no rush and no ticket queue. We go through the trip itself: which countries and regions, how long you're away, whether it's resorts, cities or somewhere more remote, and anything in your medical history that changes the advice. Then we agree a plan together. That might be two or three vaccines the same day, a booster before you fly, malaria prevention for the itinerary, or simply confirmation that you're already covered. Certificates — including yellow fever — are issued on the spot, and anything left to finish closer to departure gets written down so nothing is forgotten.
Frequently asked questions
It's a short run east. We're at Davyhulme Pharmacy on Canterbury Road in Urmston, and the roads through Carrington and Flixton bring you straight to us, so most journeys take only a little while by car or bus.
Yes — you can park on Canterbury Road itself or the residential roads off it, so once you've made the drive over from Partington you won't be left hunting for a space.
We'd recommend it. A few weeks' notice gives multi-dose courses time to finish before you fly, so aiming to call around six weeks ahead makes everything smoother. Flying sooner than that? Ring 0161 748 3016 anyway — even at short notice there's nearly always something worthwhile we can arrange.
Plenty of neighbouring spots. As well as Partington and Carrington, we welcome travellers from Flixton, Davyhulme, Urmston, Sale and the wider Trafford area — but if you're out in Partington, we really are your nearest travel clinic.
