Your local travel clinic for Stretford
Just up the road from Davyhulme Pharmacy in Urmston, we look after travellers from Stretford with practical, plain-English vaccine advice and a warm welcome.
We're Urmston Travel Clinic, run from Davyhulme Pharmacy at 179–181 Canterbury Road in Urmston. Stretford is one of our closest neighbours — a short hop east towards Old Trafford and the Manchester side of Trafford — so plenty of people from around the town already pop over to us before a trip.
Whether you're off on a family holiday, a gap-year adventure or visiting relatives abroad, our pharmacist will sit down with you, look at where you're going, and sort the vaccines and travel-health advice you actually need. No fuss, no jargon, and most jabs done the same day.
Popular travel vaccines
We offer the full range — here are some of the most requested.
Yellow fever
Needed for parts of Africa and South America, and sometimes for your certificate at the border.
Hepatitis A
One of the most common jabs we give — spread through contaminated food and water.
Typhoid
Worth having for many trips to Asia, Africa and parts of the Americas.
Rabies
Given as a short course — sensible for remote areas or longer stays far from good medical care.
Getting to us from Stretford
We're easy to reach from anywhere in Stretford. By car, head west away from Old Trafford and follow the roads through to Urmston and Davyhulme — you'll find us on Canterbury Road, near Davyhulme Park. If you're closer to the A56 or Chester Road end of Stretford, the M60 (junctions 9 and 10) makes the run round to Urmston quick and simple. There's parking nearby, so you won't be circling the block.
Coming by tram or train
Stretford has its own Metrolink stop, and Urmston rail station is a short journey away on the line out of Manchester. If you'd rather not drive, the bus and tram links across Trafford make it straightforward to get over to the pharmacy. Just let us know roughly when you're coming and we'll have everything ready, so your appointment is quick once you arrive.
Areas around Stretford we look after
As well as central Stretford, we regularly see travellers from Gorse Hill, Old Trafford, Firswood, Trafford Park and the streets out towards the Bridgewater Canal and Longford Park.
