Your local travel clinic for Monton

We look after Monton travellers from Davyhulme Pharmacy on Canterbury Road in Urmston, just across the Ship Canal. Calm, plain-English advice and the full range of travel jabs in one friendly visit.

We're Urmston Travel Clinic, run from Davyhulme Pharmacy at 179-181 Canterbury Road in Urmston (M41 0SE). Monton sits just to the north of us in Salford, the other side of the Manchester Ship Canal, so although you're technically over the water you're really not far at all. Plenty of people from Monton village and the Eccles side already make the short trip to us before they fly.

There's no need to head into Manchester or sit in a hospital waiting room for your travel jabs. We're a proper neighbourhood pharmacy with a registered travel service, so you get an unhurried chat with someone who knows their stuff and, for most people, the vaccines you need done the same day.

Getting to us from Monton

By car, the simplest route is to pick up the M60 and come round to junction 9 or 10 for Urmston, then follow the signs through to Davyhulme and Canterbury Road — you'll find us close to Davyhulme Park. If you'd rather stay off the motorway, you can drop down through Eccles and over the Ship Canal towards Barton and Davyhulme, which brings you in from the north. Either way it's a short, easy run from Monton, and there's parking close by so you won't be hunting for a space.

Coming by bus, tram or train

If you'd rather not drive, you've got options. Eccles, just next to Monton, is the end of the Metrolink line, and there are regular buses linking the Eccles and Monton area down towards Urmston and Davyhulme. Urmston rail station is a short journey away too, on the line out of Manchester. Wherever you're setting off from in Monton, let us know roughly when you'll arrive and we'll have everything ready so your appointment is quick and easy.

Areas around Monton we look after

As well as Monton village and Monton Green, we regularly see travellers from Eccles, Patricroft, Winton, Barton and the streets out towards Worsley and the Ship Canal. If you're north of the canal in this corner of Salford, we're one of your nearest registered travel clinics — and you'll always see a pharmacist who'll take the time to get your trip right rather than rush you through.
