Mpox
As of 24 October 2025, one confirmed case of mpox clade Ib with no history of recent travel has been reported. This is the first locally acquired case of mpox clade Ib reported in Malaysia.
No vaccine — how to stay safe
Avoid close skin-to-skin contact with anyone who has a rash or sores, steer clear of wild animals, and wash hands regularly.
Chikungunya
As of 2 August 2025, a total of 40 chikungunya cases (no deaths) have been reported in Malaysia during 2025. Three separate clusters were detected and successfully contained indicating an effective public health response.
